Frequently Asked Questions

Age Issues

When I signed up, I accidentally put the wrong birth date. Can I change my birth date?

Sorry, we cannot change the birth date you set when you signed up.

I am under 13 and not a member, now that I can publish animations, what's going to happen to all the animations I created before?

You can publish any new Animations or existing Active Projects, but Animations created before this change will remain private. You'll still be able to watch them, but you won't be able to Publish them or enter them into contests.

Membership

I saved a lot of Active Projects while I was a free user and I am now a Sketch Star Member. Can I publish those animations now?

Yes, Members can publish 100 animations each month, including Active Projects they saved when they were a Non-Member.

How do you win the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Blue Member Awards? (Crowns)

The longer you're a Member, the better your Member Award gets. You get the Bronze Member Award after being a member for a month. The Silver, Gold, and Blue Member Awards come after 3 months, 6 months, and a year.

Moderation & Approval

When will my animation be posted? How long does the moderation take?

Our moderators work hard to check each animation as quickly as possible. Sometimes - perhaps because of a high volume of animations - it may take longer for each animation to be checked and published.

Sketch Star Members receive instant publication of their animations. Click here to find out more about upgrading.

If an animation is rejected by a moderator, will it still be visible privately to its author?

No.

Saving Problems

What happens if I receive an error message while publishing an Animation?

Contact our Support Team at support@miniclip.com.

I got a "Connection Failed!" message when I was trying to save an animation. What does it mean, and is my animation lost?

If you see this message, it means the Animation data is having problems reaching our servers.

First of all, make sure your internet connection is working, and try to reconnect if it isn't. If you have any programs running that use the internet heavily (downloads, streaming media, etc), try disabling them, as they may be taking up all of your bandwidth.

If these steps do not fix the problem, don't worry, your animation is not lost. You'll be given the chance to save a copy onto your computer, so you can access it next time you open the Animation Creator.

I published a moving animation, but then it was just a still image when I looked at it on the site. What's wrong?

Some web browsers have problems displaying the animated GIF images we use to show animations. If your animation is only showing one frame, this might be the problem, so try another browser, or ask a friend to have a look. If the Animation still seems broken, contact our Support Team at support@miniclip.com.

When I published an animation, it showed on my page as Pending Moderation. I have just checked back to see it, and it has vanished. What happened?

The animation has been rejected by a moderator. It has been removed from the system, and it won't be published. Click here for more information about Sketch Star Moderation.

Awards

Why don't I get an Editors Pick Award?

Our Editors work hard to see as many animations as possible, and give Awards to the best of them. As long as you keep practicing your skills, you'll make better and better animations, and an Editor's Pick shouldn't be far away...

Contest

How many animations can I submit to a contest?

You can only submit one animation to each contest, so make sure it's a good one!

I submitted a great animation to the last contest, but I think it'd be good for the current contest too. Can I submit it again?

Animations can only be submitted to one contest. This is to make sure entries are relevant to the contest theme.
